From Course Completion to Certification Readiness: Rethinking Candidate Success
Most associations and digital learning providers offer comprehensive certification preparation through courses, practice exams, and study resources. Yet many are asking a new question: How do we know certification candidates are truly ready for the exam? Completion alone doesn’t always reflect confidence, knowledge gaps, or exam readiness.
In this Power Hour we explored how associations are moving beyond content delivery to more personalized, readiness-driven learning experiences. We discussed emerging trends, hands-on approaches to competency-based assessments and adaptive learning, and how organizations can build on existing learning assets to better support certification candidates.
The session was hosted by Shrikant Pattathil, President and CTO, Harbinger Group, along with learning and technology experts Angeline Brown, VP – Product, Becker Professional Education; Daniel Mummert, Director, Online Education, American Academy of Ophthalmology; and Sanobar Shaikh, Learning Solutions Specialist, Harbinger Group, who have partnered with associations and certification organizations to modernize learning products and digital experiences. Together, they shared market insights, real-world experiences, and practical considerations for evolving certification preparation.
