Investment in a real-time collaborative solution has been doing the rounds lately. Organizations are seen investing in a business-driven enterprise collaboration approach that revolves around a well-defined unified communication strategy with mobile, social and cloud as the core tenets. A mature Unified Communication (UC) function integrated into organizations business processes, in other words ‘customized/tailored’, yields greater benefits for an organisation. It leads to a fast-track route to accomplish their business goals.

Harbinger has extensive experience in building customized solutions on Unified Communications platform – Microsoft Lync® (MS Lync). Our proficiency in software product development and in-depth understanding of Lync platform comes handy in the projects execution. We have expertise in Lync, UCMA Architecture and UCMA 3.0 SDK server side customizations. Custom developed solution using Lync SDK and VOIP and IM based communications via Lync have transformed the way enterprise ISVs can communicate and collaborate. The rich set of available Lync APIs help to extend Lync platform to meet the organizational needs.

Lync by design is a software powered UC solution underpinned by its flexibility to integrate with other business workflows. Lync comes with a powerful concept called – Conversation window extension (CWE) – an embeddable browser that provides hosting environment for the content and displays contextual application within the Lync client itself. Leveraging CWE, Harbinger has built interactive UI for custom client implementations. The team also has experience in creating and customizing BOT – configured to send automated response (text/audio/XML) to specific requests and Lync server set up and configurations.

Recently, my colleagues, Dilip Rewtani and Subodh Bhide had conducted a webinar to discuss how Microsoft Lync is an Extensible platform. In this session, they covered:

  • How Lync has proved to be an extensible platform and not just a product
  • How to implement a Lync based Visual IVR (Interactive Voice response) providing great user experience
  • Lync custom integration opportunities and its demonstration through examples
